Chris Harris says he was ready to choose between Eagles and Saints when Chargers came out of nowhere

Chris Harris Jr’s change of heart could go down in history as the one reason the Eagles were able to finally land Darius Slay.

While a guest on Ian Rapoport’s, RapSheet + Friends podcast, the newly signed Chargers cornerback was discussing his free-agent options after leaving the Denver Broncos.

Harris Jr. admitted that the Eagles were a finalist along with the New Orleans Saints. The slot corner was set to choose between Philadelphia and New Orleans when the Chargers “came out of nowhere” and changed the dynamic.

Feeling the LA weather and deciding the scheme fit him better, Harris Jr. eventually chose the Chargers over the Eagles and Saints.

You can take a listen below, but you have to wonder if Howie Roseman would have target Slay had he been able to land Harris on the open market?
