Chris Harris on Tyreek Hill’s TD catch: ‘That was a great play’

Late in the third quarter of Thursday’s game against the Chiefs, Broncos cornerback Chris Harris was burned by wide receiver Tyreek Hill for a 57-yard touchdown. It was an uncharacteristic play for Harris, who is rarely beat.

Denver went on to lose 30-6 and Harris was asked about the play after the game.

“That was a great play by [Chiefs coach] Andy Reid,” Harris said. “I’ve never had someone run a shallow-wheel on me. That was just a great play by him. I was able to contain him until then, but that was a great play.

It would be difficult for any cornerback to cover that route one-on-one. It looks like safety Justin Simmons was sucked up toward the line of scrimmage, which left Harris isolated.

Hill finished the game with just three catches. That one was a dagger.
