Chris Froome sits third in the Tour of Romandie, 10 seconds behind Michael Albasini of Switzerland who won the second stage in a sprint finish to take the overall lead.
Albasini, a Tour of Romandie specialist who won all three sprint stages of the six-day race last year, edged Jarlinson Pantano of Colombia and the third-placed Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe at the end of the 168.1km (104.5 mile) route from Apples to Saint-Imier.
Albasini got a 10-second bonus for winning in 4hrs 21min 43s, and leads by the same margin from his Orica Greenedge team-mate Ivan Santaromita of Italy.
Froome, the two-time defending champions, suffered a puncture, but was able to recover in time to get back into the lead pack. His Sky team-mate Geraint Thomas also punctured a tire and lost the overall lead by finishing four minutes back.
