Chris Evans welcomes first child with wife Alba Baptista as baby’s name revealed

Chris Evans and his wife, Portuguese actress Alba Baptista, have quietly welcomed their first child together — a baby girl.

The couple, who married in 2023, are said to be “overjoyed” by the arrival, which comes just as they celebrated their second wedding anniversary.

The Captain America star, 44, and Baptista, 28, reportedly welcomed their daughter in Boston, Massachusetts, over the weekend, according to TMZ.

The outlet claims to have seen the baby’s birth certificate, which confirms her full name as Alma Grace Baptista Evans.

The pair had not publicly announced that they were expecting, though speculation mounted in recent months.

Baptista’s father, Luiz, appeared to hint at the news earlier this year when he commented on a Father’s Day tribute to Evans on social media, writing: “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!”

Evans had previously expressed his desire to start a family.

Speaking to Access Hollywood in late 2024, he said: “Yeah, I hope so. The title of dad is an exciting one.”

Evans and Baptista first met in 2021 and were spotted holding hands in New York the following year, confirming their romance.

They married in an intimate ceremony at their home in Massachusetts in 2023, followed by a second celebration in Portugal attended by close family and Evans’s Avengers co-stars, including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner.

Speaking at New York Comic Con shortly after their nuptials, Evans told fans: “We actually had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast, we did one in Portugal. My wife’s Portuguese [to huge cheers]. Yeah, go Portugal!

“They were wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot, planning a wedding, it takes a lot out of you. But now that we’re through that, we’ve just been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn – my favourite season.

“It’s the best time of year right now. Now we’re just relaxing, enjoying life and reflecting.”

The Standard has contacted Chris Evans and Alba Baptista reps for comment.
