Chris Evans shares extreme weight loss tactic he uses to shed pounds

Chris Evans has revealed the extreme dieting tactic he uses to lose weight.

The Virgin Radio Breakfast Show host admitted that he sometimes fasts for as long as 16 hours in a bid to shed pounds.

Speaking on his show, the 53-year-old opened up about his extreme technique after a member of his team offered him a brownie.

He said: "I do this 12 hour fast, which I have never talked about on the radio.

"But I don't eat for 12 hours a day as it improves everything. 16 hours is even better, but 12 hours is easy especially if you do a breakfast show.

"If you get up at silly o'clock, not eating for a 12 hour period is very easy. It is about now [7:40am] I could have it now. I mean I can't really."

Chris is also an avid runner and is taking part in the Amsterdam Marathon later this year.

He's running to raise funds for charity Dementia Revolution.

He said on his show: "One and a half million people are affected by dementia in one way or another.... This is for Dame Barbara Windsor and Scott [her husband].

"It is for Dementia Revolution, that is that is why we are going there, that is why we are running."

The star is also auctioning off 50 seats on a chartered plane from Farnborough, in Hampshire, to Amsterdam for the charity.

He's a keen runner too (Virgin)
