Chris Evans has confirmed that he has said "yes" to taking part in next year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The radio presenter told the BBC’s The One Show appeared to suggest that he will be competing in the popular dancing competition next year.
Addressing recent reports that Mr Evans may appear in next year’s show, presenter Alex Jones said on Tuesday: “If rumours are to be believed Chris Evans, you probably won’t have time to do panto next year.
“Can you deny or confirm that you will be on Strictly?”
Mr Evans, who is leaving his flagship BBC Radio 2 breakfast show this week to return to Virgin Radio, replied: “Well, I have said yes, I have said yes.”
He added: "Probably only because my wife would like to go every week.
"You'd know because you get a pair of tickets don't you.
"So you and my wife can go and have a great time and I will be terrified backstage."
He added: "I haven’t signed, but I saw Joe the big boss Joe Wallis the commissioning editor.
"We had a cup of tea, he said are you up for it, this is what you need to know about it, this is the minimum, this is the maximum, it’s not as easy as maybe you imagine it will be.
"I think what’s funny about it, everyone puts it off and tries and keep it a secret - no announce now, we’re doing it now."
It comes after this year’s show concluded on Saturday when journalist Stacey Dooley and professional dancer Kevin Clifton lifted the glitterball trophy.
Strictly Come Dancing attracted a peak of 12.7 million viewers for the final.
