Chris Eubank Jr v Anatoli Muratov fight off as bout is cancelled at 11th hour

Chris Eubank's Jr fight against Anatoli Muratov has been cancelled.

The pair had been due to face each other at Wembley Arena on Saturday night, but Muratov is unable to compete after the British Boxing Board of Control raised concerns over his pre-fight medicals.

Sky Sports announced the rest of the show will go ahead as planned, including a European title bout between David Avanesyan and Liam Taylor and an English title eliminator between Germaine Brown and Jamal Le Doux, reports The Mirror.

Promoter Kalle Sauerland said: "It is an extremely unfortunate situation for Chris.

"However, the health and safety of boxers is always our number one concern and at this late stage it wasn’t possible to find a suitable replacement.

“I know Chris was looking forward to fighting tonight at The SSE Arena, Wembley and starring as the new face of Sky Sports Boxing.

"We are already in discussions regarding a new date for Chris and fans can expect to see him back in the ring very soon.”
