Chris Eubank Jr reveals he turned down Love Island before Tommy Fury signed up

Chris Eubank Jnr has revealed that he was invited to appear on Love Island - but turned it down to focus on his boxing career.

The boxer, 29, opened up on Good Morning Britain today with his famous dad and was asked about his opinion on the hit ITV2 show.

Currently, Tyson Fury's younger brother Tommy, who is also a boxer, is appearing on the programme and is coupled up with social media influencer Molly-Mae Hague.

Questioned by Piers Morgan about taking part, Chris said: "I don't think it's for love. It's for exposure. I've already had that.

"But I have been asked would I go in the villa and I've always said no. Maybe when I'm retired."

The beginning of this morning's interview started a little awkwardly as his dad stopped the chat with Piers and Susanna Reid to ask whether they were live on air.

The legendary boxer, 52, appeared on GMB with his son Chris Eurbank Jr. to speak about their appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.

But as he got started talking to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, he paused the chat in confusion.

Piers had begun by saying: "You're on Celebrity Gogglebox. Why?"

"It's fun television," he replied simply as Piers awkwardly asked, "Is it?"

"Yeah," the boxer replied as Piers pointed out that the Channel 4 was just about people watching TV.

Susanna asked: "Do they just go into your home?"

Chris Eubank interrupted, asking: "Are we filming right now?"

(ITV)

"Yes, we are," Susanna said. "If you look at the camera and the screen we're on."

"Good morning," Piers said, sipping from his mug.

"Good morning," the boxer repeated. "You caught me off-guard."
