Chris Eubank Jr has been discharged from hospital after he was taken for checks following his win over Conor Benn.
The pair battled through an unforgettable 12 rounds at Hotspur Stadium on Saturday night, Eubank winning by decision, 116-112.
The fight promoters Boxxer confirmed after the fight that he had been taken to hospital for ‘precautionary checks’ as recommended by the onsite doctor. He had sustained a cut above his right eye after the pair had knocked heads during the fight.
No other injuries had been confirmed, though Boxxer have denied claims that Eubank had suffered a broken jaw.
They said in a statement on Sunday that “Chris is doing well and currently resting.”
Eubank broke his post-fight silence after leaving hospital, thanking his supporters as he posted on X.
He wrote: “Well it took nearly 3 years but we finally got the job done.
“Big shout out to everyone that supported the fight on Saturday & made it the once in a lifetime event that it was.
“Without the fans none of this is possible, thank you.”
There is a chance the pair may fight again, after the fighters agreed to an optional rematch clause before the bout.
Conor Benn said in a newly released video that he felt the four-point decision was harsh, and that he has already returned to training following the bout.
Perhaps the crowning moment of the evening was Chris Eubank Sr’s return to the ring alongside his son after reports of the pair’s estrangement had dominated the build-up to the event.
