Chris Doidge: What do Forest Green Rovers fans make of Hibs move?

With Chris Doidge having completed his move from Forest Green Rovers to Hibs, there will no doubt be an air of anticipation amongst Hibees.

After all, a new striker arriving for a transfer fee is a rare enough occurrence in Scottish football.

Hibs haven’t been shy about making that happen before, however. They invested to sign Florian Kamberi on a permanent basis last summer after a successful loan spell.

Then again, Pat Fenlon spent a not insignificant sum on James Collins and that did not go to plan.

But what do fans of Forest Green Rovers make of their man’s move to Easter Road?

A move to Bolton in January collapsed after the trotters were placed under a transfer embargo, which meant Rovers missed out on a reported fee of close to £1million.

They’ll now get significantly less for the striker who netted 14 times on their way to the League Two play-off semi finals, where they lost to Tranmere Rovers.

That seems to be the main grievance on their official fans’ forum, as well as a particular dislike for Motherwell, who were suggested as candidates before Hibs became public knowledge...

It seems one Rovers fan will doubly disappointed...

Unless there's a dramatic, late attempt to hijack the move, he won't be getting his wish.
