Chris Davis is 0-for-49. It’s the most futility any batter has had in MLB history. By breaking the mark set by utility infielder Eugenio Velez of 46 hitless at-bats, Davis, who has an $161 million contract, becomes a piece of the wrong part of sports history. He’s not alone.

He did, however, score the final TD in the game on a one-yard run. Coincidentally, the 2002 Kansas City Chiefs had seven fumbles .., all season.

UMBC had a great time with its miraculous win and will forever be on the sports landscape.
