Chris Cadden revealed Shaun Maloney has already made a big impact in the short time he has been boss at Hibs.
The former Scotland and Celtic star has won his first two games in charge with last week’s victory over Aberdeen followed up by another three points against Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday.
Cadden netted Hibs ’ second goal in the 3-1 win over the Tangerines, his first since joining the club in January.
The 25-year-old is enjoying the style of possession football Maloney is demanding from his new charges and is also delighted to finally open his scoring account for the Easter Road side.
Cadden said: “Aye, I’m pretty happy! It’s been frustrating so it’s good just to get the goal.
“But it’s not about me, it’s about helping the team and getting a win. So to contribute to that is great for me.
“The gaffer has been doing a lot of work in the analysts’ room showing us what he wants us to do, giving us little bits of pieces here and there.
“The gaffer has been great since he came in. The style of football he wants to play suits our players and it’s enjoyable to play in.
“The first two games have been great and I’ve really enjoyed it. You can tell it’s going to be good. It’s about getting possession of the ball.
“We’ll get a wee break now, come back in and have some good time on the training pitch.
“We want to play football but we’re conscious that we have had a lot of games in a short space of time.
“A few of the boys will be thankful for the break, recharge the batteries, and then we can go again into a big second half of the season.”
Cadden signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Hibs in January after a spell with MLS outfit Columbus Crew.
And the versatile right-sided player admitted he is delighted with how his move to Easter Road has worked out so far.
Former Scotland Under-21 star Cadden added: “I’ve loved it. It’s a massive club and I’ve settled in really well. I had my injury issues but it’s been good to get a run of games and play as much as possible.
“I want to rack up more appearances for Hibs – I should’ve had more if it wasn’t for my injuries.
“I’m loving the football and loving being here.”
Hibs’ attacking options will be bolstered in January by American international Chris Mueller.
The frontman signed a pre-contract in July and has been training recently with his new team-mates.
And Cadden knows exactly what the 25-year-old former Orlando City player will add to the Hibs squad.
He said: “I’ve played against him over in the States. We’ve had a couple of MLS chats.
“He’s settled in great and he’s raring to go. He works hard and he’ll bring a bit of quality as well.
“He’s had a couple of weeks training with us so he’ll be ready.”
