Chris Brunt signs short-term contract extension with West Brom

Chris Brunt has signed a short-term contract extension with West Bromwich Albion.

The former Northern Ireland international has agreed to stay with the Baggies until the end of the season.

West Brom sit top of the EFL Championship and remain on course for promotion to the Premier League.

They returned to league action at the weekend following football's suspension due to Covid-19, drawing 0-0 at home to Birmingham.

Brunt, 35, has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, including Michael O'Neill's Stoke City.

He joins Gareth Barry, Lee Peltier and Jonathan Bond in signing short deals for the title run-in.

Meanwhile, West Brom have announced that Northern Ireland Under 19  international Jack Chambers has been released.

The former Linfield youth player joined the Baggies in 2016.
