R&B star Chris Brown has been remanded in custody until June 13 after appearing in court charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Brown, 36, was arrested by Metropolitan Police detectives at a Manchester hotel early on Thursday morning over an incident reportedly involving a serious assault at a venue in Hanover Square, Mayfair, on Sunday, February 19, 2023.
He is accused of attacking a music producer with a bottle at the Tape nightclub in central London.
The singer appeared before a judge in Manchester, who ordered he be kept in custody until his next court appearance on June 13.
During a hearing at Manchester Magistrates’ Court, prosecutor Hannah Nicholls said Brown had committed “an unprovoked attack with a weapon in a nightclub full of people.”
The Go Crazy singer is set to tour the UK in June and July, with dates at Co-Op Live in Manchester and Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
He is also set to play two nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 21 and 22.
