Chris Brown: police surround singer's home after woman claims he pointed gun at her

Los Angeles Police have surrounded the home of singer Chris Brown after he allegedly threatened a woman with a firearm early on Tuesday morning, according to multiple reports.

Police sources told the Los Angeles Times that officers had responded to an emergency call from a woman asking for help at Brown’s $4m mansion in the city's Tarzana neighbourhood at approximately 3am. The unidentified woman reportedly said Brown, 27, had become angry and pointed a gun at her, at which point she ran outside to call police.

Officers attempted to enter Brown’s home but were rebuffed and ordered to return with a search warrant to scour the property for the weapon he is alleged to have brandished. An LAPD spokesman confirmed to The Independent that officers from its Robbery-Homicide Division were handling the investigation of the incident.

Meanwhile, Brown himself took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to complain about the disturbance, saying he had been “asleep half the damn night” and had woken up to find “all these motherf****** helicopters, choppers is around, police out there at the gate.”

“I’m way too tired to be dealing with this bulls***,” he added.

The Grammy-winning singer’s musical career has long been overshadowed by his repeated run-ins with the law, most notoriously after he attacked his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 and subsequently spent six years on probation.

Police are believed to have been called to Brown's property at least five times already in 2016, in response to complaints of disturbance of the peace. A police officer at the scene on Tuesday told reporters that the "residents" had been "uncooperative", hence the need for a search warrant.
