Chris Brown will remain in custody in the UK until mid-June, after British police charged the R&B singer for allegedly physically assaulting an individual at a London nightclub.
Brown appeared at Manchester’s Magistrates’ Court on Friday, facing one count of grievous bodily harm, and was ordered by Judge Joanne Hirst to be held in custody until June 13. The date coincides with the singer’s planned performance in Frankfurt for his world tour.
Prosecutor Hannah Nicolls described Brown’s alleged violent actions as “extremely serious”.

The 36-year-old was arrested at a Manchester hotel on Thursday, due to his connection with the attack against music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle in 2023. Brown was in the UK for his aforementioned tour.
Diaw told UK outlet The Sun that he was hospitalised after Brown hit him “over the head two or three times” in April 2023, leading to him being hospitalised and having to use crutches when discharged.
The producer has since filed a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against Brown after the alleged attack.
Nicolls told the court that Brown also chased, punched, and kicked Diaw in the crowded club.
Defence lawyer Grace Forbes stated that Brown was not a flight risk, and therefore should be released from custody.

The singer has been involved in a long string of legal troubles over the years; most notably his 2009 arrest over assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Last year, Brown was filed in a lawsuit that claimed he and accomplices “brutally and severely beat” four men in an unprovoked attack, per Billboard.
Brown was expected to continue the international leg of his tour next month, hitting European countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Ireland, and more.
