Chris Boswell plans no changes preparing for Steelers 2019 season

2018 was completely forgettable for Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell. He struggled all season and ended up on IR with a mystery ailment which didn’t even let him finish the season. But despite finishing 13-for-20 on his field goal tries, Boswell has no plans to change his approach for this season and doesn’t give any credence to his injury last season for his struggles.

There are really two schools of thought on this. The idea of just getting back to business and not letting a bad season force you to change everything you do makes sense. Don’t try to re-invent the wheel. But on the flipside of this, if it’s broke you need to fix it.

It’s important to note the Steelers really did nothing to address the kicker position this offseason and Boswell is going into training camp with no pressure to lose his job. Matthew Wright is on the team but doesn’t represent a solution at kicker. It’s also important to note, thanks to his new contract Boswell has a 2019 cap hit of $4.2 million.
