Chris Bosh had a sleepless night after a matchup vs. Kevin Garnett

The more separation we get from Kevin Garnett’s playing days, the more comes out about how unique of a personality he was. Up until now, Tony Allen was the last one to publicly provide insight on one of the best players of the early 2000s.

On Sunday, The Bill Simmons Podcast featured former Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat star, Chris Bosh. Simmons and Bosh spoke about a long list of items, one being the best power forwards he ever faced. Two came to mind.

“(Tim) Duncan (and) KG (because) those were my heroes,”

Duncan was the obvious answer, given his consistency and success. Though, there was something different to Garnett.

“KG was just … he was kind of in the same (category) but his intensity and kind of his skill level (were) unmatched,” Bosh said.

Part of Garnett’s intensity was one of his trademarks, head-butting the hoop support during pre-game, going all out on every play and trash-talking. Bosh was aware of all three, specifically the trash-talking.

“He’s called me a momma’s boy,” Bosh said. “We joked and laughed about it a few months ago. He got me, too. It was true. He called me a momma’s boy … He said something, I forgot what he said to me and I said something and he said, ‘Man, you a momma’s boy’ … I had the worst game of my career after that. I couldn’t sleep. I’m like, ‘What is that supposed to mean, a momma’s boy? Who is he talking about.’ It’s 4 a.m. (and) I got to be up in a couple hours, I’m still up late at night.

Bosh continued after Simmons interjecting with “he got in your head.”

“He was all in there, all in there,” Bosh said. “Kept hearing it man. ‘Momma’s boy.'”

Something says this won’t be the last Garnett story we’ll hear.
