
Once star dancer and choreographer at the New York City Ballet, he broadened his fame when he choreographed and had a role in the 2010 film "Black Swan" and then married his co-star Natalie Portman. Frenchman Benjamin Millepied now has his own dance company in California, the "L.A. Dance Project". Its dancers have been paying tribute to the world's health workers during the Covid-19 crisis and are developing ways to bring dance to people virtually, with no performances scheduled or ticket sales planned for the foreseeable future.
He speaks to Eve Jackson about how the US is handling the coronavirus pandemic, what it means for dancers around the world and how he still intends to go ahead with his creation of "Romeo and Juliet" online.
