Christmas Day just wouldn't quite be the same without a large roast, with dinner time for many people the peak of their festive celebrations.

And as with anything that people feel strongly about, there is room for controversy as cases are pitched for what exactly should go into making the perfect Christmas dinner.

Is mash an appropriate form of potato to have? Does anybody actually want to have Brussels sprouts? And is cauliflower traditional?
