Chocolate lovers find hidden image on Toblerone bars - not noticed 'for 50 years'

Christmas is just around the corner now, and it's getting to that time when the big tubs of Celebrations, Quality Street and Roses get cracked out for the whole family to enjoy.

Another fan-favourite for sharing with friends over the festive period comes in the form of the humble Toblerone - triangular-shaped chocolate chunks with tangy honey and almond nougat, which are far too rich to gorge all alone.

And while those who are gifted the tasty treat are mostly far too hasty to analyse the packaging in full, one mum has recently pointed something out about the logo leaving those who favour the treat in a state of shock and awe.

The Mirror reports that a Twitter user shared her revelation after it was brought to her attention by her son, preparing to tuck into his first bar. She admitted that he had become quite inquisitive about the packaging, even going as far to spot a minor detail that his mum had never noticed in her life.

The Tweet, read: "My son had his first Toblerone today. 'What’s the bear for?' Me: 'What bear?' I was today years old when I found out there's a bear in the Toblerone logo."

Contrary to the popular consensus, there isn't just a mountain printed on the chocolate box - but also a bear standing on its hind legs in the two-tone logo. The mum went on to explain: "Toblerone comes from Bern, Switzerland. Also known as the city of bears."

Others went on to praise the incredibly observant youngster, with many admitting that they had never spotted the bear either - despite one user speaking about how she buys her dad a bar every year for Father's Day, and has done for 38 years.

One joked: "There is clearly no bear in the logo of Tobl... oh, there he is. Damn."

Another commented: "I have never seen that!!! Your son is brilliant!"

Someone else added that they'd been eating the chocolate for 50 years, and had never noticed the subtle logo, penning: "Eating them for 50 years never noticed that, your lad's a genius, in my defense the wrapper is the last thing I'm thinking about when I get one."

"I've never spotted this. Your son will go far", another Twitter user praised.
