Cho Gue sung to Celtic transfer collapse explained as striker's agent details the definitive Parkhead roadblock

South Korea international Cho Gue-sung wants to delay a move away from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors due to the striker's concerns over his fitness, claims his agent.

Gue-sung and his representatives have spoken openly about interest from Celtic who who had submitted a bid in the region of €3.3million which included a hefty sell-on fee in order to try and tempt the 24-year-old to move to the Scottish Premiership, with Bundesliga side Mainz and MLS out Minnesota both credited with big money bids. However, reports in Korea now suggest the forward will remain in the K-League this term and target a move in the summer window.

The player's agent has now offered an insight into the mindset of the World Cup star, with his client reportedly set to make his final decision over an exit on Monday. However, it would appear that Gue-sung would perform a U-turn if an offer arrived from the Premier League, with the forward previously touting a switch to the English top flight as a dream move.

The player's agent was asked about the decision to delay a move until the summer by Korean outlet Xports News. He said: "Cho Gue-sung continues to worry about his current physical condition."

Football Scotland report that Jeonbuk have a contingency plan in place should a bumper offer tempt the forward this month. The club would also have to see a club meet their valuation.

Ange Postecoglou will now move on to other striker options with Giorgos Giakoumakis nearing the Celtic Park exit. Shimizu S Pulse striker Thiago Santos Santana has emerged as a reported target in Japan.
