Chloe Madeley shares beautiful candid snap from hospital in emotional post about labour 'not going to plan'

Chloe Madeley has shared a beautiful photo taken from before she gave birth as she revealed her labour 'did not go to plan'. Manchester-born Chloe and former England rugby union player James Haskell announced the arrival of their first child over the weekend.

The couple, who wed in 2018, announced that they were expecting a baby in February with James sharing the joyous news on Good Morning Britain alongside his father-in-law, presenter Richard Madeley. Chloe also shared the happy news in an Instagram post by sharing a video montage that featured pictures from ultrasound scans and selfies during her pregnancy up to that point. Chloe simply captioned: "Little one," alongside a heart.

Chloe, who is the daughter of former This Morning hosts Richard and Judy Finnigan, previously told how she feared she would never conceive naturally after two years of trying for a baby. Exclusively sharing the news of their daughter's arrival with OK! magazine Chloe and James, 37, said: "We are delighted to welcome to the world our daughter. We are utterly besotted and beaming with pride". The couple also shared a sweet snap of their baby girl's hand and confirmed she was born last Wednesday morning (August 10) at 8.36am.

The new mum has since returned to social media, sharing a black-and-white snap of herself while heavily pregnant and preparing to give birth just over a week ago in hospital. She then opened up about her experience of childbirth to her 256,000 followers. "Forever grateful that even though my childbirth did not go to plan, I was surrounded by compassionate, skilled, knowledgeable and experienced women from start to finish," she penned.

"Here is my deepest, most heartfelt thank you to all the midwives out there who pull long shifts, have to make difficult decisions under pressure, have seen a hell of a lot of good and bad, and exercise compassion and reassurance every single day for those under their care.

"Also to the obstetricians who are exactly where they need to be, exactly when they need to be there, and who manage to see the whole thing through with what seems to be complete ease."

She then turned the praise onto her husband who she joked she did 'nearly fire' as he birthing partner. "And @jameshaskell, after I nearly fired you from your post for fear you would be at another DJ gig when I went into labour, you were the DREAM birth partner," Chloe gushed.

"I couldn’t have wished for anyone better to hold my hand and talk me through everything from start to finish thank you I love you we DO make cute babies."

Some of Chloe's celebrity followers were soon leaving comments. Denise Welch said: "So happy for you Chlo. Love Mama." Vicky Pattison replied: "Sending you love missus." Claire Sweeney added: " Congratulations to you both." But midwives were also quick to show their appreciation for Chloe's message.

James shared another photo of his wife as she prepared to give birth, showing her sitting in bed with her bump on show and her hair tied up in a messy bun as she laughed with someone out of shot. Captioning the post, he wrote: "8 days ago, when we had some semblance of a birth plan. @madeleychloe ready to be even more of a star than usual."

Chloe’s Good Morning Britain presenter dad Richard previously revealed that his former Dancing On Ice star daughter was due on August 7. The personal trainer and nutritionist found out she was expecting a girl during a meal with her famous parents at the family home. James found out when his wife arranged for a box to be delivered to their house carrying a pink baby bear outfit.
