Chloë Grace Moretz claims she was invited to join Taylor Swift's squad

Chloë Grace Moretz appears to have bucked the trend which seems to go hand-in-hand with being a high-profile, successful woman under the age of 30 by seemingly declining an invitation to be in Taylor Swift’s squad.

Core members such as Lorde, Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid and Karlie Kloss are often seen out and about with Swift in paparazzi photos, cooking dinner around Swift’s house on Instagram and appearing with the singer at various stops on her 1989 tour. The squad was cemented in pop culture last year when almost all of them appeared in the singer’s "Bad Blood" music video as an all-female power troupe hellbent on revenge and then all accompanied the singer to the MTV VMAs, posing on the red carpet together.

In an interview with Complex, Moretz revealed she received an invitation to join thanks to her friendship with original squad member Selena Gomez, but being as though she wasn’t seen in any #squadgoals pictures, we’re guessing she declined.

Additionally, she also shared her thoughts on squads in general which suggest she did give the offer a miss. “They appropriate exclusivity,“ she says. ”They’re cliques!”

Moretz has starred in Kick Ass, 500 Days of Summer and the remake of horror movie Carrie in 2013 . She recently found herself on the receiving end of a Kim Kardashian-West Twitter rant after she shared critical tweets about the businesswoman’s decision to post a nude picture of herself on social media.
