Chirs Simms says Dolphins’ defense could challenge Ravens’ offense

The Miami Dolphins will play host to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night to kick off Week 10 of the 2021 NFL season.

With Baltimore being one of the better teams in the league, and Miami on the opposite end of the spectrum, the Ravens are expected to win this game rather easily. However, Chris Simms of NBC Sports said on “Pro Football Talk Live” that he believes that Miami could slow down Baltimore’s electric offense.

“I do think the Dolphins do match-up somewhat here with this Ravens’ offense,” Simms said Thursday. “I do. First off, the Ravens are not as good a running team as the stats would tell you, through the traditional run game… Miami has got some big people up front, to where, I would think, they would feel comfortable about slowing down the run game. We know they’ve got some good corners. I think they could give the Ravens’ offense some issues.”

The Dolphins’ defense is coming off of two pretty strong performances, but one of them didn’t last the full 60 minutes while the other was against Houston.

Miami’s defense ranks 27th in points allowed (26.9) and 30th in yards allowed (391.9). Baltimore’s offense ranks seventh in points scored (27.6) and second in yards gained (427.9).

It’s a bold prediction, but it doesn’t feel like one that’s going to come true.
