Chippy creates unique battered roll and chips locals can't get enough of

A chippy has wowed punters with its creation of a deep fried and battered chip roll - with the locals reportedly going wild for it.

Such a mash-up of greasy foods sounds like the invention of a chip shop owner in Scotland, where deep fried goods are king.

But sadly, a chippy in Bolton has beaten us to it and the staff are showing off their culinary skills to the locals.

Flounders Fish and Chips is selling this incredible snack - which is simply just a portion of chips, served on a roll before getting a good old dunking in the deep fryer while caked in traditional chip shop batter.

It is available to buy for £2 and can be service with either curry, gravy or even mushy peas.

Victoria Flatters, who owns the chippy, said that customers have been repeatedly buying it after the first try.

She told Manchester Evening News : “We weren’t sure about it because we thought it would be a bit of a mess. But they’re quite light and really nice.

“People have been coming back for more - one customer has been every day for two weeks!”

“We are the only one doing it in the area. I don’t know anyone else that’s doing it.”

It is surely only a matter of time before a chip shop in Scotland pops this on their menu.
