Prince Andrew may have thought he was off the hook when the DoJ announced that it was done with its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein but King Charles has made a point to remind his little brother that the recent development changes nothing.
The recent announcement from the White House claiming there was no client list has reportedly left Andrew feeling rather “chipper” according to the Daily Mail. No doubt it comes as a relief to the Prince who was a close associate of the notorious sex offender.
Prince Andrew felt paranoid
Although he was technically never charged with anything, the Prince was reportedly terrified of being questioned by the authorities, so much so that he has essentially lived as a recluse for the past few years. Of course, he maintains his innocence despite the rather damning accusations from the late Virginia Giuffre. His statements on the matter have only further proved his apparent guilt in the court of public opinion as well which has left him little choice but to hide away.
However, this most recent development might have left Andrew feeling a little freer now that it seems the threat of the Epstein documents possibly outing him has gone. But that relief hasn’t lasted very long.
Speaking to Ephraim Hardcastle of the Daily Mail, a supposed mole within the palace claimed “Andrew’s anxiety continues” as the backlash to the news about Epstein has given Trump second thoughts about releasing documents related to the matter. On top of that, King Charles has given his younger brother a harsh “reminder” of his place within the family.
Charles puts the Prince in his place
According to the source, the king gave Andrew a “reminder” that he is still an outcast in the eyes of the family as he reportedly told him that “events don’t allow him to return to royal duty.” Hardcastle asks the question (more rhetorically than anything else) “Is there no redemption for the disgraced duke?”
The Epstein case isn’t the only example of the Prince bringing shame upon his family. Late last year Andrew was involved in another scandal as his connections to an apparent Chinese spy were made public. His poor choices in who he associates with have led to him being branded as “an entitled imbecile” by his family.
So to answer Hardcastle’s question, it doesn’t look like there will be any redemption for Andrew, even if he is never conclusively proven guilty. Charles has made it clear that he is not to publicly associate with the royal family, (although he is apparently still on the guest list for an upcoming Balmoral holiday). It’s unlikely things will change for Prince Andrew as the fallout from the Epstein case has left him and Charles at odds for the past few years now.
