A Chinese takeaway owner had his customers in stitches with a brilliant prank that lasted over a month.
Based on the Racecourse Road in Derry , the 'Rice Bowl', was closed as the owner went abroad to get married.
However, before his departure, the owner, Mr Chang, put up a giant shop front illusion that made it appear open for business.
The prop was designed after an elderly business neighbour said she didn’t feel safe without his customers about.
Speaking to Belfast Live, he said: "It all started off in October of 2019 when I had to close my business for a few days because I was not feeling too well.
"On my return to work, a flower shop owner next door to my business came out to greet me and she said that she was frightened because of the lack of people coming and going as I was closed."
Upon his return, the business owner found a month's worth of hilarious clips of very hungry customers on CCTV.
Posting the clips online, Mr Chang said: “The award goes to the lady that tried to look through a window that is really not a window.”
Several clips show the confused customers scratching their heads as they try to figure out how to gain entry to the fast-food premises.
The prop has since been removed and Mr Chang said he's now back open for business.
He said: "Please believe me when I say this, I have been looking out the window watching people watching me watching them and now no one wants to come into the Chinese because everyone thinks that they are looking at a photo on the shutter.
"No one wants to be embarrassed by walking into something that is not real!
"I really am open, believe me, I’ll wave to you all. Come on in!"
