Chinese 'cyber-dissident' jailed for six years

A Chinese man who posted 100 articles on the net calling for political reform has been jailed for six years. The court said it was showing "clemency" to the so-called "cyber-dissident" Zhang Jianhong because he had expressed remorse during his trial on charges of writing "articles defaming the Chinese government". Zhang, a member of the Chinese branch of the independent writers association PEN, is appealing against the sentence.
