Chinese actress Angelababy has face examined by medical experts during bizarre defamation case

A Chinese actress has had her face examined by ‘experts’ as part of a bizarre defamation case.

Angelababy, real name Yeung Wing, is suing cosmetic surgery clinic Ruili in Beijing after it alleged she had plastic surgery done on her face, reports the BBC.

She is seeking 500,000 yuan (£51,000) in compensation, insisting her looks come from her European heritage and German grandfather.

Doctors examined the 26-year-old’s face to determine it’s ‘authenticity’ and put her through a series of X-ray scans and tests, including prodding her face, at a cosmetic surgery hospital in the capital.

Hospital chief Qi Zuoliang later pronounced her looks were genuine.

“Baby’s [Angelababy’s nickname] entire head and facial bones do not have any signs of incisions,” he told reporters.

The actress had a high-profile wedding to actor Huang Xiaoming last week which reportedly cost 200 million yuan (£20.3 m).

Xiaoming assured reporters that the rumours about his wife’s cosmetic surgery were false, explaining she “sometimes looks quite ugly”.
