What's new: China plans to set up regional Covid-19 vaccination stations to inoculate overseas Chinese nationals, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Sunday during a press conference.
Speaking on the sidelines of China's annual national political gatherings, Wang told reporters that Beijing has been making efforts to help overseas Chinese nationals receive Chinese or foreign-made Covid-19 vaccines.
He said more than 50 countries have been accepting Chinese nationals in their domestic vaccination programs. He added that there are Chinese nationals who abroad are already receiving Chinese-made vaccines by local law.
What's more: The Chinese foreign minister also said China is preparing to issue electronic health certificates for international travelers and prompt mutual recognition of nucleic acid tests and inoculations among countries.
He also said China is willing to work with the United Nations and the International Olympic Committee, providing Covid-19 vaccines to U.N. peace-keeping forces and Olympic athletes.
