China's myopia epidemic: Short-sightedness high among schoolkids

It is estimated that as many as 90 percent of China's urban youth will have short-sightedness by the time they complete high school.

That is three times the rate among children in the United States or Europe.

Some scientists are linking the country's high myopia levels to an excessive study load and the spread of mobile phones and other devices.
