A 'shallow' 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck Tibet, China.
The quake struck the Xizang region on Thursday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.
The quake was very shallow, at a depth of 5 km (3.11 miles), EMSC said.
The quake took place in an uninhabited area known as the Plateau of Tibet with the nearest location to the earthquake centre being 450.3 km away in Saga, Tibet, according to reports.
It happened hours after a 4.1 magnitude earthquake hit Bomi County of Linzhi City of Tibet and a 3.6 magnitude earthquake in Yutian County of Xinjiang, according to The Epoch Times.
In May an earthquake killed four people and left another 24 injured in southwestern China.
On May 18 the quake hit near Zhaotong city, which has a population of more than six million, and registered 5.0-magnitude, according to China's government seismology authority.
