On Tuesday, Beijing announced retaliatory tariffs on certain American imports in response to the Trump administration's imposition of tariffs on Chinese goods entering the United States. The tariffs imposed by China's Ministry of Finance include a 15% duty on specific types of coal and liquefied natural gas, as well as a 10% tariff on crude oil, agricultural machinery, large-displacement cars, and pickup trucks. These measures are set to take effect on February 10.

This move by China follows the implementation of a 10% tariff on a wide range of Chinese imports into the United States, which was announced by the White House and recently put into effect. Beijing criticized these tariffs in a statement issued on Sunday, expressing its intention to defend its rights by lodging a complaint with the World Trade Organization and implementing corresponding countermeasures.
