Chilling footage taken just moments after a man in his 30s was stabbed in the leg by a gang in north Dublin shows the shocking impact it had on the speechless community.
Worried and frightened locals could only watch on as Gardai dealt with the stabbing incident at Marigold Park in Darndale today.
The shocking footage shows locals gathered around the cordoned off scene as hardworking Gardai and paramedics try their best to treat the injured man as he lay still on the grass.
The victim's leg was cut open by a gang of men following an altercation that took place shortly before 1pm.
He was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment on his injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.
The area is sadly no stranger to horrendous crime acts.
That particular area of Darndale has been the scene of two separate brutal killings in the past, Jordan Davis and John Lawless.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Shortly before 1pm a male in his 30s sustained injuries during an altercation with a number of other males in the Marigold Park, Darndale.
"He was taken by Ambulance to Beaumont Hospital for treatment to apparent leg injuries. It’s understood he sustained a stab wound to his leg.
"His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
"The scene is preserved for examination. No arrests have been made to date enquiries are ongoing."
