Chilling new Covid-19 TV advert shows how easily disease can spread using green slime

A graphic Covid-19 awareness advert uses green slime to show how easily people can infect each other with the virus.

In the health film, released by the Scottish Government, a young woman who has unknowingly been infected arrives at her grandad's house, where she embraces him with a hug.

But while the virus is invisible to the woman, viewers can see it, represented by green slime around her mouth and hands.

She goes to make her grandfather a cup of tea, and contaminates his taps, kettle, tea bags and mugs with the slime.

As she waits for the water to boil, she relives a recent night out with mates, by watching a video of them all revelling together in close quarters.

The clip ends by showing the green slime all over surfaces on her grandfather's house, and his face, before the chilling message: "Don't Pass Coronavirus To Those You Love."

It is followed by a warning on social distancing measures in Scotland, which differ to the North East's. In our region, people are currently forbidden for visiting other households, unless they are part of a care bubble or support bubble.
