Chilling moment Emmerdale's Rhona comes face to face with rapist Pierce tonight

Emmerdale have teased the chilling moment that Rhona Goskirk comes face to face with her rapist ex-husband Pierce Harris for the first time in years.

Pierce, played by Jonathan Wrather, was jailed after being found guilty of raping his wife on their wedding day and was sent to jail.

However, after being released, he returned to the village to murder Rhona's boyfriend Graham Foster and has since taken her friend Vanessa captive.

In horrifying scenes last night, Vanessa watched in terror as Pierce prepared to be reunited with Rhona. After attempting to make a last-ditch attempt at escaping, she was captured.

Rhona was initially confused when she received a video call from Vanessa, but she was terrified after discovering that Vanessa is with Pierce and that he has taken her.

She was left frozen when Pierce hijacked the phone and saw his face for the first time.

Tonight, Rhona meets with Pierce for the first time when he surprises her in the dark at Mulberry cottage in eerie scenes.

As she steps tentatively in the house, surrounded by shadows, Rhona looks haunted as she seeks out the last man in the world she would like to speak to.

She jumps when she turns to see him and he smiles sinisterly.

"You came," he says.

Appearing on loose Women today, actors Zoe Henry and Jonathan Wrather, who play Rhona and Pierce, opened up about how they deal with acting the dark scenes.

"We diffuse the situation at work by having a laugh in between takes," Zoe said, while also saying that gardening in her allotment also helped relieve stress.

Rhona is desperate to find out what Pierce's plan is and whether Vanessa and Johnny are safe, so she plays along with him when he asks her to hand over he phone.

She suggests that they eat something before they set off so that she can buy some more time, but Pierce is distracted by a thud upstairs.

He moves to check it out and Kim suddenly appears, asking what is going on.

But before Rhona can warn her and tell her to leave, Pierce bashes her over the head .
