Chilling Keith Flint leaflets posted in village terrorised by masked acid vandal

Chilling leaflets featuring the face of late Prodigy star Keith Flint have been stuffed into letterboxes in a village being terrorised by a masked acid vandal.

Villagers in St Briavels, Gloucestershire, have been targeted by a mask-wearing acid attacker who has damaged six vehicles in the past 18 months with corrosive liquid in the dead of night.

Locals claim they are 'under siege' from the unknown assailant - and have now begun receiving dark hate mail.

One of the leaflets shows a picture of The Prodigy star Keith Flint, who committed suicide at his Essex home last month.

It comes with a message: "We'll be seeing you soon. Quietly waiting."

Another disturbing picture shows a horde of cockroaches crawling over each other.

Residents believe the sinister leaflet dropper is the same 'lunatic' who has been spotted throwing acid on cars in recent months.

Six vehicles have been targeted over the last 18 months.

Villagers were left scared with one reportedly saying: "We're living in the edge of our nerves here. I daren't leave the house in case I get caught up in it."

Another resident said: "We're just keeping our heads down until this lunatic is caught and brought to justice."

A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Police said a woman was previously arrested in connection with the attacks.

She confirmed the motive behind the attacks is not a 'policing matter' and they are aware of a 'civil dispute'.

The spokeswoman said police recovered a wig and face mask more than a mile from the village - but there is 'no proof of them being connected to the incidents' involving acid or the leaflets.

Inspector Andrew Hodgetts said: "We have offered a local point of contact for all future concerns, we are running a mini police information point to build relations within the community and are working with the community to find a long term solution to this issue.

"Whilst it appears the motive behind this issue is not a policing matter, criminal offences have occurred and we are doing everything we can to prevent the risk of future offences."
