Chilling footage has shown the moment a man threatens children with a knife at an Edinburgh park.
The kids are then seen running away from the weapon-brandishing thug before he walks off with the blade still in his hand.
The man targeted the youngsters at Lochend Park on Friday evening and a video captures him threatening them as he swings the knife, pointing it in their direction.
He is wearing dark coloured trousers, a grey zipper and a black hat during the incident.
It is believed the group are aged between 12 and their early teenage years.
Some can be heard screaming in fear during the course of the video.
Jordan Baillie posted the clip online in a bid to trace the culprit after his friend's son was one of the children at the scene.
A statement from the Edinburgh Police Division said: "We are aware of footage being circulated on social media showing a man acting aggressively in possession of a knife at Lochend Park.
"We would like to reassure the public that no-one was injured in that incident and police are following a positive line of inquiry."
