Children left sleeping on floors and soiled beds
Thousands of kids in Liverpool are sleeping on floors and sofas, on beds shared with family members or on soiled mattresses they can't afford to replace.
One Anfield family with seven children, including four under five years of age, were found sleeping on urine-stained mattresses in a house with missing windows, a door that wouldn't lock and a boiler that hadn't worked in years.
Councillor Gerard Woodhouse of the L6 Community Centre said even "Anfield cemetery was warmer."

He said: "Because of the job I do, nothing surprises me, but that house sticks in my mind because I've never seen anyone living like that. It was appalling."
An estimated 10,000 children in Merseyside didn't have beds of their own to sleep in 2017, according to research from children's charity Buttle UK.

Former Jaguar Land Rover worker called 'bailiffs' to win £250k for unfair dismissal
A former Jaguar Land Rover worker has claimed he had to call in the "bailiffs" to help him get £250,000 for an unfair dismissal.
Brian Fox was a 'devoted' worker for the car manufacturer since the age of 16 at the Lode Lane factory in Solihull.
But he says after twice undergoing heart surgery he was dismissed at the age of 59 in March 2019.,

He had put in a request to no longer work night shifts on medical grounds which was turned down by the company.
Brian took JLR to an employment tribunal and eventually won a huge £250,000 pay-out in March, based mainly on loss of future earnings and pension contributions.
