A children’s charity has made a desperate plea to the public after motorists flocking to Balloch blocked access to their hospice.
Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) said drivers have been parking up at Robin House, preventing families of sick children from visiting.
The organisation also said an ambulance struggled to access the hospice on Sunday due to congestion on the road.
A CHAS statement on social media said: “A plea from Robin House: we would politely ask people to respect government advice and refrain from travelling to beauty spots such as Balloch.
"The road up towards our hospice and around the corner has recently been congested with parking.
“On Sunday, an ambulance had difficulty accessing the hospice due to the congestion. We’ve also had members of the public using our car park, occupying all disabled bays and preventing families from visiting.
“We appreciate that everyone is keen to go outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather but it’s so important that we support families during this time and that emergency services can easily access the hospice.
"Thank you so much for your understanding.”
Day-trippers descended on beauty spots around Loch Lomond over the weekend, with many flouting government guidance to travel miles and bask in sunshine on the first weekend since restrictions were eased.
There has been outrage across local communities, with National Park chief Gordon Watson hitting out at people arriving in their droves and trashing the park with litter and toilet mess.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said on Monday that Saturday saw three times more cars on the A82 than the previous week, warning the guidance will become law if people continue to ignore it.
