Children's "fairy doors" vandalised in North Belfast woodland area

Children's "fairy doors" have been destroyed in an area of Belfast yesterday.

"Fairy doors" that had been put up by local residents by the Waterworks area of North Belfast have been taken apart in the past few days.

The discovery was made by residents on Sunday, with one local posting the pictures on social media saying: "Those wee fairy doors didn't last long at the Waterworks

"One pulled away and the other smashed.

"This is why we can't have nice things."

The fairy doors had been put up at one of the trees at the Waterworks area last Friday August 13 for local children to enjoy.

The vandalism has been condemned by residents in the area who commented on the post saying: "My kids love these, everyday they are at them looking for the fairies. They will be heartbroken."

Another said: "Such a shame."
