A row of ornamental kabuto helmets made of Shigaraki ware, a specialty of Koka, Shiga Prefecture, are displayed in anticipation of Children's Day. Behind them, doll maker Junko Kuzuhara paints a helmet in between working on Shigawaki ware dolls, which are among the 80 handmade pieces she produces each year at her pottery studio. Both the helmets and dolls are created for display on the May 5 holiday.
