Children's charity boss joins board of Aberdeen Standard Investments trust

A former partner in an investment banking firm who now heads one of the UK’s leading charities for children is joining the board of a £187 million Scottish trust.

Sarika Patel has been appointed as a non-executive director at the Aberdeen Standard Equity Income Trust . Chartered accountant Patel, who began her career at PwC, was previously a partner at investment banking firm Zeus Capital. She now serves on a host of public and private sector boards including a current role as chair of Action for Children , a board member of the Office for Nuclear Regulation and a commissioner at the Gambling Commission.

Richard Burns, chairman of the trust, said: "The directors are delighted to appoint Sarika to the board. Sarika is a business leader with nearly 30 years' experience in a mixture of public and private organisations.”
