Children of slain Gareth Kelly make heartbreaking shrine in his memory

The children of a father of seven who was allegedly stabbed to death have made a heartbreaking shrine to him.

Relatives of Garreth Kelly shared the image of the homemade tribute which includes the poignant message: “Love you Daddy, XXXX. Rest in Peace 2020.”

It also included a drawing of him as an angel and a photo with the words Greatest Ever Dad.

The family of the 39-year-old, who was originally from Tallaght, South Dublin, shared other photos of the devoted dad.

Meanwhile, a fund set up to pay for Mr Kelly’s funeral and support his family has broken its target, raising more than €7,000. Mr Kelly’s niece Caoimhe Kelly revealed the family’s gratitude in a moving online post.

She said: “I’m so thankful DublinLive shared our gofundme link to give him the best send off possible.

“A total and utter family man. A man that was well-loved and simply known as Dad, Son, Brother and Uncle Gar.”

Mr Kelly’s body was found beside his car at Brownsbarn Wood in Kingswood, West Dublin, on Tuesday morning.

Christina Anderson, a 38-year-old mum of three with an address in the estate, has been charged with his murder.
