A family have thanked the police helicopter for hovering over their Norris Green home on Easter Sunday.
Five-year-old Lily Prescott and her brother Euan drew a thank you message to the force helicopter on the pavement outside their Norris Green home at the weekend.
On Easter Sunday the helicopter hovered over the family's home, and the children ran out to wave at it.
But later in the day Lily and Euan received another surprise when the police tweeted a photograph of their message.
The force posted a note with the photograph which read: "On our way back to base we thought we would drop by and look at your fantastic sign! I'm glad they enjoyed it, it's great to see."
Mum Heather said: to the ECHO "We have tried to keep the kids busy during the lockdown - they have been drawing lots of messages for the NHS heroes and posting them on the windows.
"But at the weekend they wanted to do something for the police helicopter. We live in Norris Green so we are used to it.
"But then we realised the helicopter was over our house, so the kids rans out to wave.
"When the force tweeted out the photograph we realised what they were doing. It made our Easter - the kids were made up."
Heather said that the family had been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
She said: "I have been furloughed and my husband is working from home. It's hard with two kids but we are doing our best like everyone else.
"Our house backs on to a park which helps a bit - everyone is being responsible and following social distancing rules.
"I just wanted to say thanks to the police for cheering up the kids on Sunday."
