Children frogmarched back to shops by angry parents after causing 'absolute carnage'

The disgusted parents of three children who caused 'absolute carnage" outside a parade of shops frogmarched their kids back to the scene.

Shopkeeper Eva Kattou had vented her frustration after finding smashed glass in a parking area behind her store in Rugby, eastern Warwickshire.

She also found her children's toys had been taken out of a storage box right outside her flat, a mop and bucket had been launched off the balcony and solar panels removed from the walls.

Posting on Facebook she branded it "disgraceful", and it prompted their parents to act, Coventry Live reports.

She wrote: "These little s***s need to be dealt with accordingly.

"Yes they’re kids," wrote Eva, who is four months pregnant with her second child. "And they were throwing smashed glass at each other.

"So if you know your kid was hanging about by the shops I would like for you to come forward and identify them from our CCTV and I want them to clean up the bloody mess they’ve made."

Eva threatened to take the footage to police along with names of the suspects she had been given by Facebook users and local residents.

The threat worked a treat and prompted the kids' dismayed parents to reach out to Eva the very next day.

"I can hand on heart say to the parents thank you. And I applaud you for bringing your kids to make things right," Eva posted on November 13, six days after the damage had been caused.

"Today the lads are cleaning up mess around the area, left over glass and de-weeding. General cleaning.

"They’ve written letters of apology and have been different children all together.

"I am so glad that I gave them the benefit of the doubt as today has shown me that they’re not bad kids. They just acted in a stupid way.

"They’ve been nothing but respectful and apologetic! They certainly feel bad for what they’ve done and are paying for it.

"But we keep in mind they are still children! Well done lads and well done parents."

Eva, 34, told WarwickshireLive the lads had returned last Saturday for a second round of chores and have pledged to keep carrying out general maintenance and cleaning duties all the way to Christmas.

"They did wrong, but they rectified it, and are still rectifying it and that's thanks to the parents," added Eva, who is studying an Open University law degree with the intention of becoming a university lecturer.

"While it's a punishment of sorts, they do get looked after. They get fed each time.

"When it gets to break time they sit inside my shop and eat free chips from my father's chip shop!"
