Children 'disappointed' after discovering reality of what 'end of a rainbow' looks like

It's always remained a mystery on what actually lies at the end of a rainbow. According to the old folktale, several people assume that there lies a pot of gold at the end to leave the finder extremely wealthy.

The mystery has carried on throughout generations and has left children and adults alike anticipating the day they strike gold with their findings. However, one mum has admitted that her child was left extremely 'disappointed' when they stumbled across the phenomenon.

Taking to popular Facebook group Family Lockdown Tips and Ideas - which boasts more than 1.2 members - Kiera Cantwell shared images finally proving what the end of a rainbow really looks like.

Alongside a series of photos, mum Kiera explained: "Both my boys were so excited this afternoon to see a double rainbow and they spotted 'the end of a rainbow'.

"Hopefully means some good luck is coming our way.

"Although they were disappointed there was no pot of gold."

Proving the theory of scientists, Kiera's photos showed that the end of the rainbow displayed absolutely nothing - not one piece of gold.

Since sharing, the woman's post has raked in over 200 comments to date.

Flocking to the comment section, one person joked: "Don't just sit there and start digging."

Meanwhile, someone else said: "Tried my hardest to find the gold!"

A third wrote: "When I was little I tried walking to the end of a rainbow in a field behind my house to get the treasure only to discover the more you walk to it the further away it gets."
