Children across Edinburgh dress up as key workers to show support for #Dress4NHS

On Friday morning (2 April), children, parents and their teachers from across the country dressed up or put on their school uniform to show support for the NHS.

The hashtag, '#Dress4NHS' was widely used on social media, with children encouraged to take part and dress in school uniform or as a NHS worker or superhero as a fun activity to keep them entertained as well as a show of admiration for those on the frontline.

It comes as Edinburgh Live are encouraging people across the city to show their appreciation for NHS Heroes by leaving a heart to show your support for NHS Lothian staff using this link.

The campaign was created by learning resource organisation, Twinkl, who were alerted to the idea by a British primary school.

Jonathan Seaton, Co-Founder and CEO of Twinkl, said: “Twinkl encouraged teachers, parents and children to take part in #Dress4NHS and dress up to show support for the incredible NHS staff and key workers across the country.

"We were contacted by Woodford Halse CofE Primary with the wonderful idea and we wanted to use our platform to help spread the word.

"Inspired by this, Twinkl created a ‘Thank you NHS card’ for children to express their appreciation for the invaluable work which the NHS and key workers are doing.

"We’ll also be creating a compilation video of some of the photos submitted and sharing it with NHS Trusts across the country. We're delighted to have been able to help with such a wonderful campaign and to be able to show these amazing people just how grateful we, and the rest of the UK, are”.
