One child and a civilian were wounded on Friday from shrapnel from Houthi armed drones that were downed by the Saudi-led Arab coalition.

The shrapnel fell over southern parts of Saudi Arabia.

The Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen had fired six explosive-laden drones towards the Kingdom on Friday.

Spokesman for the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Asir, Mohammed bin Abdo al-Sayyed said that the agency had received several calls about shrapnel landing in several residential areas in the Khamis Mushait and Ahad Rafidah provinces.

A child, 10, was wounded and he was treated by the Saudi Red Crescent.

A civilian was wounded while driving his vehicle. He has been taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

A number of houses were damaged by the shrapnel.
